Illuvium is an open-world fantasy battle game built on the Ethereum blockchain. Positioned as one of the first AAA-quality blockchain games, it blends immersive gameplay with decentralized finance (DeFi) elements, appealing to both casual gamers and crypto enthusiasts.

### Exploring the World of Illuvium

The game features creatures called Illuvials, which players can capture after defeating them in battle. Once captured, these creatures become part of the player’s collection and can be used in battles against other players through Illuvium’s auto-battler mechanics.

Illuvium merges open-world exploration with player-versus-player (PVP) combat. Players can freely roam the game’s expansive world, discovering new areas, or focus on strengthening their team of Illuvials for competitive battles.

### Development and Team

Development of Illuvium began in 2020 by a global team of over 40 developers. The project is led by co-founders Kieran Warwick, a serial entrepreneur and early cryptocurrency adopter, and Aaron Warwick, an experienced game designer. Notably, they are brothers of Kain Warwick, the co-founder of DeFi platform Synthetix.
